Art Description

The words for abundance and fish are pronounced the same in Chinese (yu), and because of this the fish is considered to be the symbol of wealth in Chinese culture.

Fish also symbolizes marital happiness, harmony and reproduction because fishes multiply rapidly and sometimes swim in pairs. People placed messages in the bellies of the fish according to the legend and thus the fish has also been regarded as the symbol of communication with a distant friend or loved one. In the Buddhist religion, fish is an important symbol and it is also among the auspicious signs on the Footprints of Buddha. Fish on the Buddha footprints signifies freedom from all restraints.

The Feng Shui master will normally suggest that in order to bring prosperity and good luck to the home, then we should include paintings of fish in the home decor.

Combination of Nine Fish

The best combination of nine fish: eight goldfish or Koi fish and one black-coloured goldfish (black moor). With the combination of eight red and one black fish, the fish symbolise prosperity, energy and good fortune. The number eight is the major prosperity number for Feng Shui practices.

Purpose of One Black Fish

The one black goldfish is most important since its purpose is to absorb any negative energy that enters your home. The black goldfish therefore becomes a symbol of protection.

About Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are printed on a high quality 100% cotton gloss canvas material which is 300GSM. Gloss cotton canvas offers fantastic colour reproduction.

All prints are coated with a quality protective coating which protects against moisture, UV and dust.

Stretcher bar are used quality kiln dried width are 3cm in depth. The raised lip around the outside of the stretcher frame protects the print from pressing onto the frame and becoming dented with the outline of the frame edges.

All mounted prints are stretched and stapled onto the wooden stretcher frame. The staples are then covered and finished with a tape to minimise the scratching of painted walls during hanging and to give an overall better finish.
